About the Book

It’s never too early to prepare! This charmingly illustrated picture book teaches children what it’s like to be a missionary, from riding a bike to studying the gospel to having a companion, and everything they can do now to be ready so that when the time comes, they’ll be the best missionaries they can be. Colorful and cute, it’s a perfect gift for baptisms and birthdays.

My Review

I Hope They Call Me on a Mission is a darling book with fabulous illustrations.  Although, I felt it was geared more towards younger kids, there are messages in the book that are good reminders for us all.  Each page tells what missionaries are, and/or do.  For example:  Missionaries Testify.  Next, the author talks about ways you can testify now, to prepare and learn how to testify to others by sharing your testimony.  This was my favorite part, "Heavenly Father will give you the strength and confidence if you are willing to open your mouth." (page 11)  There is even one on eating, trying new foods, to get used to different cultures.  I loved that!  I am excited to show this book to my daughters, even though they are older, but I feel we all can be helped by this book to be be a missionary now.
