Goodreads Summary

Rose Grant doesn't know the world beyond her country home in Hampshire. Banned from a season in London, prohibited from attending social events, forbidden to see her own reflection, and allowed only vetted correspondence—Rose is desperate for a life free from her controlling aunt. When she stumbles into the Duke of Andover and meets his son, the Marquess of Stratfordshire, she discovers new feelings and the possibility of future happiness. Rose begins to see a way out of her dark world—much to her aunt’s dismay.
Lord Colin Weston, the Marquess of Stratfordshire and future Duke of Andover, has met too many pretentious ladies more desirous of his title than his heart to trust easily. When he meets Miss Rose Grant, she seems genuine and kind, and Colin finds himself falling for her much too quickly.
Will Rose and Colin find their happily ever after, or will another’s attempt to poison them against one another prevail?

My review

I really enjoyed this regency retelling of Snow White. Rose is a fantastic character and is kind and good and humble. She truly has a fair heart and lights up those around her. Colin is a fantastic Prince Charming. Prudence, wow, she was evil for sure. So heartless and vindictive. Actually, a perfect villain. This book is a wonderful read and I can’t wait for more books in this series.

4 out of 5 stars. This book is book 1 of the Once Upon a Regency series! All the books will be stand-alone fairytale retellings.

Goodreads Summary

The small community of Pleasant View is abuzz over Penelope Pottifer's serialized romances in the local paper--and the real identity of the elusive Ms. Pottifer. Meanwhile, young writer Liz Black tries to tell those closest to her about her secret identity, without much success. Liz's characters may have life figured out, but Liz herself doesn't have a script to follow as she navigates her own unique adventures.

My review

Oh my goodness, this was such a fun book! Wonderful characters and an engaging plot. This book has everything I love it in. Romance, adventure and fun. I enjoyed the creativity of the plot. Each character brought something special to the story. I especially loved Mary. Reading the "paper" was enjoyable too. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Goodreads Summary

Wyoming Territory, 1876

As the only doctor in the frontier town of Savage Wells, Gideon MacNamara knows his prospects for a bride are limited. The womenfolk in town are either too young, too old, or already spoken for. So, being a practical man, he decides to take advantage of the matchmaking service of the day—mail-order brides—and sends away for a woman with nursing experience.

When Miriam steps off the stagecoach in Savage Wells, she sees a bright future in front of her. But when the town—and Gideon—meets her, ready for a wedding, her excitement quickly turns to horror. Somehow Dr. MacNamara's message had gotten turned around. He didn’t want a nurse, he wanted a wife. When she refuses to marry him, she finds herself stranded in Savage Wells with some very unhappy townspeople.

But Gideon is not like the other men Miriam has met. Embarrassed by the misunderstanding, he offers her a job, and the two begin an awkward—and often humorous—dance of getting to know each other as they work to care for the people of their town. Romance blossoms between the two, but when a former medical associate of Miriam’s arrives in town, Gideon and the other townsfolk must rally around Miriam to protect her from a dangerous fate. Gideon and Miriam must decide if they are willing to risk their hearts for each other even as buried secrets are brought to light.

My review

Healing Hearts is a gem of a book. It was wonderful being in Savage Wells again. It was like coming home to an old friend. The characters are well written and as charming as I remember them from the first book. Miriam is a lovely addition. She is full of mystery at first and I loved how she entered the heart of the town. The pacing is written perfectly. Gideon was, of course, wonderful. Hawk, Paisley, Cade, essentially. The whole town made this book what it was, Tansy and Andrew. This book is an absolute joy.

My review

The Rescue Begins in Delaware is a very cute, brother and sister to the rescue of their parents book. This book reads very fast and is a fun adventure story. I loved how the end of the book had fun facts about a real character in the story and the state the kids visited. I enjoyed how the kids had to "return" the items their parents took from history before they could get them back.

This book is a fun start to the series!

Goodreads Summary

France, 1371. The old Queen of France lies on her deathbed with a secret she will take to her grave: there is one true heir to the throne, one who would have the power to ally France and Scotland. But after her death, all that will be left are a few shreds of evidence revealing the stunning identity of her successor.
Flight attendant Skye Armstrong has heard the voice of warning before, and as she’s returning home from London, she recognizes the feeling of dread that accompanies her sixth sense. Walking from the airport terminal to get to her car, she pauses in the middle of the road. Her hesitation gives a Good Samaritan the split second he needs to pull her out of the path of a speeding car, saving her life. But her misfortunes are just beginning. When she arrives home, she discovers that Auntie Marjorie has been kidnapped, and cryptic instructions have been left behind: Skye must retrieve the contents of a safe deposit box and deliver it to the captors . . . No police. Her feelings of dread return.
What Skye discovers in the bank box is baffling: a single page. The ancient document is certainly valuable, and with no time to lose, she goes to the rendezvous to discover the next step. A cell phone rings beneath a park bench. She answers the call, and on the screen is a picture of Auntie, unconscious. Now the kidnapper demands Skye find two more pages or her aunt will die.
What secrets are hidden within the illuminated pages, and who believes they are worth killing for? And what role does the Good Samaritan play in all of it?

My review

Bloodline is a non-stop thrill ride. I enjoyed this book a lot. It seemed that poor Skye found herself in one bad situation to the next. I thought the pacing was written well and the characters were mysterious and always kept me guessing. There was no one to trust and I enjoyed that!

4 out of 5 stars.
