Cover reveal for A WALTZ WITH TRAITORS by AL Sowards

I am so excited to share with cover with you!

Here is some info about the book first.

A WALTZ WITH TRAITORS by AL Sowards coming March 2023.

Sometimes the road to freedom is a six-thousand-mile-long railroad track. Sometimes the road to love is even longer.

The Former Russian Empire, 1918

Czech soldier Filip Sedlák never wanted to fight for the Austro-Hungarian Empire. So at the first opportunity, he defected to the Russians. Now he and others like him have formed the Czechoslovak Legion. Their goal: leave the chaos of Russia, sail to France, and help the Allies defeat the Central Powers, thereby toppling a hated empire and winning an independent Czechoslovakia.

With the fall of the tsar, Nadia Linskaya’s life is in ruins. Her family is dead, her lands are confiscated, and her aristocratic world is gone forever. But Nadia is determined to elude the Bolshevik agent who destroyed her family and find a way to survive in this changed world.

When Nadia takes refuge with the Czechoslovak Legion, the last thing she expects is an ally. But when Filip proposes a sham marriage to ensure her safe passage across Siberia, she takes it. Neither Filip nor Nadia expect real love, not when the legion has to take over the longest railroad in the world—and then hold it against Bolshevik counterattacks, partisan sabotage, allied intrigue, and a set of brutal Siberian winters. At risk is the future of Czechoslovakia, the fate of Russia—and their hearts.

And here it is!

My review

Wow! I need a minute to catch my breath. This book (novella) is quite amazing and hard to put down. As with Frost’s other books in this series, the characters leap off the page and the action is page turning. I loved Venn and Vera's journey back to each other. The children and the story that came from it was a wonderful addition. I didn’t want it to end but I had to know what happened! Trust me, read this series.

5 out of 5 stars. This series is amazing. I 100% recommend it.

Publisher: Covenant

Paperback/ebook: 296 pages

FTC FYI: I received an ebook from the publisher, a review was not required, all views an opinions are my own.

Summary

Cassidy Edgemont has been dead for four years. At least, that is what the world has been led to believe. After becoming unwittingly entangled in a group called the Coalition, known for using fake news to generate political unrest in the United States, Cas was offered a devastating choice: stage her own death and join her rescuers, the guardians, or risk the wrath of the organization she betrayed. She chose death.

As an invisible government operative, Cas has been living in Paris with no complications―until her family pays an unexpected visit to the European city, changing everything. They think Cas is dead, and she has to keep it that way. But when a bomb is detonated nearby and fake news incites riots in the city, Cas recognizes the mark of the Coalition.

Donovan, a fellow guardian, is summoned to join her in Paris to attempt to untangle the intricate web linking Cas’s past with the recent bombings. But as the threat level escalates, Cas must again make an impossible decision: face possible exposure to her family in her race to uncover the truth or risk the loss of innocent lives.

My review

I can’t get enough of the Guardians books by Traci Hunter Abramson. Each one gets better and better. I loved, loved the European setting. (And a visit from Cole). I wanted to go to the bakeries! Cas is so awesome. I wish I could cook like her. Donovan was also a great character. I really enjoyed their investigation. Just the way they thought and worked so well together was enjoyable to read. Another hit for this amazing author.

Hannah: Mother of a Prophet by HB Moore - blog tour/giveaway

Hannah: Mother of a Prophet

Author: HB Moore

Publisher: Covenant

Published: June 6th, 2022

ebook/paperback: 256 pages

FTC FYI: I received an eARC, a review was not required. All views and opinions expressed are my own.

Summary

Journey back in time to the dusty roads of Shiloh and witness anew the story of Hannah and her son, Samuel.
Hannah is no longer a young woman. In the twilight of her life, she holds her memories close to her heart. Above all, she treasures the miracle of conceiving Samuel after years of barrenness and the promise she made to the Lord to release her child to the high priest Eli’s care to train and serve in the temple. But Samuel’s story does not end at the gates of the temple and neither does his family’s enduring legacy of faith, patience, and deliverance. In this richly detailed and sweeping fictional account of Samuel’s life as a prophet in the making, discover how his mother, Hannah, made impossible decisions guided by her deep and abiding love of God.

My review

HB Moore’s historical novels are wonderfully well written, and Hannah is a wonderful addition. I loved this book. The way the story flows, it doesn’t feel like just another Bible story. The author does an amazing job of character development, with some added excitement of battles and family life. I loved the different POVs throughout but the ending was perfect with Hannah as the focus:

She cherished each memory, each family memory, and more importantly, she was grateful for a God who had always remembered her name.
There were many beautiful, tender moments in this book.

An Unfamiliar Duke by Sian Ann Bessey - blog tour/giveaway

An Unfamiliar Duke

Author: Sian Ann Bessey

Publisher: Covenant Communications

Paperback/ebook: 290 pages

FYC FYI: I received an eARC from the publisher. All views and opinions expressed are my own.

Summary

At eleven years of age, Rosalind Ainsworth was convinced that Sebastian Lumley, the future Duke of Kelbrook, was the most odious young man she’d ever met. And ten years later, after having had no contact with the nobleman in the intervening time, her opinion of him has not changed. Unfortunately, neither has the marriage contract their fathers signed soon after her birth.
As Rosalind’s twenty-first birthday and the appointed wedding day approaches, Sebastian makes a rare appearance in London. His first meeting with Rosalind since childhood goes less than perfectly, but Sebastian has a compelling reason for honoring their marriage contract—a reason outlined in a document kept behind his workshop’s locked door.
After a quick wedding, the new couple relocates to Finley Park, where their acquaintanceship slowly blossoms into affection. But when Sebastian’s secretive work threatens their fledgling relationship and Rosalind’s life is placed in jeopardy, Sebastian finds himself forced to choose between the man he has pledged to help and the woman he has come to love.

My review
This book was a joy to read. I loved every page. I enjoyed so much the relationship between Sebastian and Rosalind. They were so unsure of each other at first and I felt it progressed so nicely and effortlessly. It wasn't perfect, of course, and there were things they needed to work out, but I loved the communication between them. I appreciated the way the scenes flowed. There was some well written tense moments I felt added to the story so well. The ending was especially sweet.

5 out of 5 stars. One of my top reads of the year!
